As you all the Cooinda Faction Carnival was on the 29th of September. Samphire came first place and it has been 21 years since Samphire (green) has won the faction carnival at Cooinda. So it was good that they won the 2011 carival. In second place was Geographe (gold), third place was Koombana (blue), GO KOOMBANA. Sadly in fourth place was Vittoria who came first place in 2010 and fourth place in 2011.
I thought that everyone did a great job through out the day and it was good to see everybody having a go. A big thank you to Mr Upson who made the day happen.

Next week is the last week for team 3, which means that Cooinda is having there faction carnival. At Cooinda we have four different factions and they are blue, green, red and gold. On Tuesday the 27th is the jumps day. On jumps day Cooinda holds long jump, triple jump, throwing and high jump. On the 28th we are holding 800m. You don’t have to do the 800m it is your choice. If you do run then every person that runs the race will get one point for there faction. Thursday is the big day, it is our races and team games. The years pre-primary to year 3 are out there for half the day and the years four and up stay out there for the hole day.
I wish everyone the best of luck and hope they have fun and try there best. Last year red won the carnival, but this year it is going to be blue. GO BLUE!!!!!

Tomorrow night, the 13th of August, is parents night at Cooinda Primary School. It will start at 5:30pm and ends at 7:00pm. All classrooms will be open so you can have a look around. The new under area, art room, library and room 6 will have a display for everyone to see, so please come and have a look.
There will also be a display in our classroom. We have our dreamtime stories, Marine Rangers poster, Access Asia posters, all our artwork, etc that will be displayed so you can see.
I hope you enjoy parent night. I have some questions I would love you to answer.
What was the high light of the night?
What would you like to see more of?
Did you enjoy the night?
To answer my questions just leave a comment.
Thanks.

During the holidays I didn’t get out of bed until 9 in the morning and watched television.
On the first Friday which was the 15th of July my cousin Belinda, my two sisters and myself went to her house and watched movies all day. I spent four days working on my Thailand report and helping my sister with her report too.
On the last Friday of the school holiday, Mum took us to the movies to see Cars 2. There was a holiday program for the ages 5 to 8 that went to watch the movie as well, most of the children didn’t watch the movie, all they did was run around playing, so you couldn’t hear the movie.
Watching them reminded me when I was little running up and down stairs and watching Nemo. Luckily there was only my dad, myself and two other people watching the movie Nemo as well.

I am here to talk to you about recycling. Recycling involves you putting paper, plastic, newspaper, cardboard and glass bottles into the recycling bin. Before putting the bottles into the bin, make sure you wash it out and remove the lid because you can’t recycle lids. The recycling bin has a yellow lid and the and the rest is light green. After it’s been throw away it is make and shaped into something new.
If we don’t recycle and use the somethings over and over again, we won’t have to waste as many things that could be recycled, such as milk bottles, trees, coke cans, etc. So recycling can help the environment.

Here are three ways to help save the planet.
1: Car pool. If you live close enough to work or school, leave your car at home and walk, ride or take public transport. Cars alone kill about 30,000 people per year. Also, most ozone pollution is caused by cars.
2: Reduce your carbon footprint. Your carbon footprint is how much impact you alone had on the environment, like how much electricity, petrol and water you use. If we use less electricity, petrol and water you will have a smaller carbon footprint.
3: Reduce, reuse and recycle. If we reduce, reuse and recycle planet Earth would be clean and a better place to live. If we recycle only one plastic bottle, then that would be enough to light up a 60w light bulb for about six hours.
So that’s five ways to help save the planet, and they are car pool, reduce your carbon footprint and reduce, reuse and recycle. I hope that these tips will help you save the planet and if you are already doing these things, then keep it up.

We got back from camp on Friday the 27th of May with all the good memories. My favourite thing about camp would be the cave. Caving was the best. I have never been caving before so I really didn’t know what it would be like. I found out that a crystal grows 1cm every hundred years. That’s amazing!
The food was good, I enjoyed it. Mr Phipps makes the best jelly. It was not to hard and not to runny, which was good.
Sleeping was hard. On the first night no one went to bed until about 2:30 in the morning, I think it was all the lollies we ate. The second night was better because we were all to tired and just went to sleep.
All in all, it was the best experience that I have had in all my years of primary school. Please leave a comment or even a question about camp and I would be happy to answer it. Thanks for reading.
